another year gone-by...and another celebration with some of our absolute favorite people is in the works. we leave on wednesday & will return friday, from Chicago <3 i just love having people there that we can visit. gives us much motivation to make the drive :) and we have made so many amazing memories visiting there.
so i read this article in a magazine about making a "not to do" list for 2009 instead of a "to-do" or resolution list....i decided to make one of my own.
i will not complicate the simple
i will not do things half-way (faith, love, friendship, work, etc)
i will not give into my fears
i will not be so selfish
i will not overload myself or my husband with commitments
i will not give in to negative attitudes
i will not be entertained by gossip
i will not get down on myself for every little thing

sweet sixteen
It isn't even 16 degrees where we are right now...blarg! Its literally like below zero.
I used to be much better about this cold weather. I love snow. I love winter. I even like ice when it keeps me indoors for a day off of work ;) ...but the temperature it is, I am just not dealing! Perhaps its just been too warm in southern IN for me to get used to the bitter cold? Oh well...enough complaining.
Its been so great to see our family & to see a little Christmas snow too. At the moment, we are watching Matt's stepdad, John, make a wii person for himself. Its pretty hilarious.
Tomorrow we head home & I have to work 3 days this week...which I am SO unmotivated about. I just really don't wanna!

O holy night
The stars are
brightly shining
It is the night
Of our dear Savior's birth
Long lay the world
In sin and error pining
'Till He appeared
and the soul felt
its worth
Christmas is just about 1 week away....
We will be traveling to see Matthew's mom & some of the family in Peru, IN & then coming back home to celebrate our 1st Christmas in our new home.
For New Year's eve...we will be spending time with Sarah, Tom, Jen, & some old college friends. This has become an annual thing for us and it is something we look forward to very much :) Its so good being able to take a few days to just be with these friends. We really miss living near these people. This year, our little bash will be in Chicago.

In case anyone didn't know this...The Office is possibly the best show ever in its genre.

"Okay. Rule five - safety first, i.e. don't burn the building down. Okay? That should be a no brainer."
Jim: Oh today, we saw a junk yard dog attacking the bones of a rotisserie chicken.
Pam: Nature.
Michael: Ok, Wendy. Hot and juicy red head. Give this a try. [Michael dials phone number. Phone rings.]
Wendy's phone operator: Wendy's.
Michael: Hello Wendy, this is Kevin's friend, Michael.
Wendy's phone operator: This isn't Wendy.
Michael: Oh, I'm sorry, could you put her on please?
Wendy's phone operator: Dude, this is a Wendy's restaurant.
Michael: [under breath] Damn it Kevin. OK, umm, could I just have a frosty and a baked potato please?
