The snow has melted & life has gotten back into its little rhythms. I miss the scenery, but it is a bit more convenient to get around. Its been warm....60's here and today its raining. The weathermen are saying "not yet" but it feels like Spring is on its way.
Matthew & I have some exciting stuff coming up. He will be going to a writing conference in Indy at the end of Feb. He has an ongoing project that should really benefit from some writing time and inspiration. Its not my place to share what he is working on...but I think its really awesome.
That same weekend...I will be participating in the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics of Southern Indiana! Its going to be unpleasant, I'm sure...but maybe the temps will stay about freezing this year ;) If anyone can donate...I have a website to raise money for the plunge.... http://www.firstgiving.com/jessicatownsend
Our friend, Hannah, is coming to visit this weekend. She was in Uganda in the Peace Corps for the past 2 years....She was the orchestrator of the backpack purse operation! It has been a very long time...and I absolutely can not wait to see her. She was one of my & Sarah's apartment mates for a year in college. We have kept in touch since she left and its so exciting to know she will be here with us soon!!!
Not much else going on...Matthew & I have been getting more involved in church. We have really fallen in love with Highland Community. I am so thankful God paved a path for us to get here. Matthew is playing for the youth on Wednesday nights....which he LOVES. He loves kids and he loves to worship...he loves to play for people. And I think his enthusiasm works really well with kids in the teenage range. He brings them out of their all too self-aware shells.
We're spending Valentine's day with some other couples from church...we're going to Ramsi's for dinner. We usually aren't much for couples things....but our church has some awesome people in it and we're going to give it a try.
Looks like I should be going....today I will be job coaching & then working with the twins for therapy. I'm so not motivated to get out in the rain! Hope you are all doing great!
love, jess
