three

Three wild kittens & their mother cat have moved into our backyard. I think my Nenaw had been feeding the mother & now they all come around...skinny & wanting food. Matthew isn't crazy about them, but I can't help it...I feed them a little something each day. They seem to be living somewhere along the ditch that runs behind our yard....I suppose they will be our little neighbors for however long they stick around. We are calling them Pip, Claire, Marley, and Black-jack. Jack is the only one that isn't gray and tiger-striped.

This weekend, Matthew's dad is here to help paint our bedroom! He actually took some of his vacation to come see us and help out....really nice. We will finally be done with the painting now.
As soon as we get the furniture in place...I will post some photos online. I am so pleased with the way everything turned out. We had loads of help from family & friends....thank you all for everything!!! I don't think it would have been possible to finish the major stuff without all of our helpers. Now we just have to get organized :)

Hope you all enjoy your long weekend...Matthew & I are off Monday and planning to do some yard and house stuff...and possibly spend some time at the park if we get enough done.

Peace, jessie

two

For those of you who don't know...We moved into a house !!! this month.

Jessie's grandmother (Nenaw) lived in this house the last few years of her life. When she passed away, her uncles decided to offer us the opportunity to buy the house from them. It was a hard decision. We wanted to take advantage of the great financial opportunity they were giving us....but there have been memories shared in this house that threatened to haunt us. In the end....we concluded that Nenaw would have been thrilled to know her grandkids were able to live in "her" house. She was just that kind of person. When it came to her family, her doors were open, always. Also, we inherited Caesar (the cat) when she passed. He has been extremely happy since being moved back into his old home.

And so....after much work, many tears, and beginning the process of healing and accepting the situation....here we are.

The house has been a blessing from the beginning. All we needed to do was to paint the walls & buy a fridge. Eventually, we want to redo the patio (its cracking a bit) but for now....we are just feeling so lucky to have a nice home that needs only the repairs we want to do, so far. Trust us, we are very aware of how blessed we are. God has been good to us and has used our amazing families/friends to deliver.

The house has 3 bedrooms (1 we made into an office) and 2 bathrooms. It is sort of an L shape with the garage in the front. The living room & kitchen are open to each other & we have a nice-sized little backyard.

Which means....we want visitors!
All are welcome :) just let us know when you're going to be in the Louisville area and you will always have a place to stay!
